4th Grade Science and Social Studies
The purpose of Fourth Grade Science is to help students develop a greater interest in and awareness of Earth and Space Sciences, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and Science Inquiry and Application. The primary focus, when learning all sciences, will be on helping students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to do Scientific Inquiry. We also hope to improve skills in critical thinking, researching, writing, and problem solving.
The Fourth Grade Social Studies curriculum focuses on the early development of Ohio and the United States. Students will learn about the history, geography, government and economy of their state and nation. Foundations of U.S. history are laid as students study prehistoric Ohio cultures, early American life, the U.S. Constitution, and the development and growth of Ohio and the United States. Students begin to understand how ideas and events from the past have shaped Ohio and the United States today.
